Hotel Garni Liesl

A house with history

The Hotel Garni Liesl has been welcoming guests since 1937

The Hotel Garni Liesl in the heart of Längenfeld grew over the years to become what it is today: a family run house with the charm of something special. The eighteen rooms at the Hotel Garni Liesl have been furnished with great attention to detail and offer a pleasant atmosphere that will make your holiday a relaxing time away from everyday life. The hotel has constantly been renovated and adapted to the current standards.

In 1937, our grandfather Albert Grüner, father of a total of 13 children, bought the building for his eldest son Johann for 19,000 schillings. At the time, the hourly wage for a worker amounted to about one shilling, while a cow cost about 120 shillings. The building did not have a water connection or heating, and emergency power was taken from a generator in the neighbouring building. The building has been expanded and extensively renovated since then.
